What's inside each HSK Anki deck

Each deck covers one HSK level's official vocabulary. Cards include simplified characters (and traditional where they differ), pinyin, English translation, example sentences, and native Mandarin MP3 audio — not text-to-speech. Anki's spaced repetition then schedules reviews for you.

How to import an HSK Anki deck

  1. Install Anki. Download from apps.ankiweb.net for Windows, macOS, or Linux. For mobile: AnkiDroid (Android) or AnkiMobile (paid, iOS).
  2. Download a deck. Pick your HSK level from the table above and click Download.
  3. Open Anki and go to File → Import (desktop) or tap + → Import (mobile).
  4. Select the .apkg file you downloaded. Anki imports the deck and all its cards, audio included.
  5. Start studying. Click the deck to begin. Anki defaults to 20 new cards per day — adjust in Deck Options if you want more or fewer.

Which HSK Anki deck should you start with?

Beginners start with the HSK 1 Anki deck (150 words). If you already passed a level, download the next level only — do not re-import lists you already know. After the deck feels stable, confirm readiness with mock tests.
